The San Pasqual Pioneer's Cemetery

The San Pasqual Pioneer's Cemetery and the Trussell Plot

The San Pasqual Pioneer's cemetery was organized on a knoll above the valley on land donated by the Rockwoods and Trussells. Ray probably instigated its organization when both his father and his oldest daughter died around the same time. Today there are three generations of Trussells buried there. When I was a child we used to go there every Memorial Day to pay our respects .. and in my case, also to hunt arrowheads. Apparently the Native Americans who occuppied the valley years ago also found the top of this little knoll a pleasant place to pass the time. When I was young, a persistent investigator could always return with arrowheads in some state of manufacture.
