Mary
The Trussells' first child was named Mary after her grandmother. Mary had a special way with animals. One day, while they were still living in on the Otay Ranch, Ray brought home a cow from San Pasqual. Probably bought it at the Judsons. When they arrived home, May named the Cow, "Cinderella". Turns out that Cinderella was the first in a long line of cows to bear that name. Later on their oldest daughter, Mary, broke Cinderella and took to using the cow as her steed. Mary continued the practice until she left home. Shown here are Mary and Cinderella on the Trussell's San Pasqual spread just about at the turn of the century.
