The Second Trussell House, "the Piedmont".

Shown above is a photo of the second house Davis Trussell built for himself while living in Sierra Madre. This house, somewhat smaller than the first, was built on the northern portion of the original lot in 1887, after the original house, along with 11 1/2 acres of the original 20 acre lot had been sold to J. Blumer. By this time the Trussell family was somewhat smaller (Cal, Ray, Jacob, and Winona were all living elsewhere in Southern California) and Davis wanted a little extra money to facilitate the acquisition of the Kennedy Ranch in San Pasqual Valley.
